How are you guys doing?
As we know, Maybelline is one of the most reputed and budget friendly cosmetic companies and they come up with new launches under exciting price range very frequently. So far it stands as one of my favorite brands. And I got my hands on one of their new launches – the New Velvet Matte and I will be giving my review on it today.
Velvet matte: This lipiee is ingenious. The packaging looks like their old lip polish but they changed the lid from steel to black hard rubber. But still its looks quite sturdy and the brush is slightly rounded so that it can easily hug the lips 😀. They have launched a wide range of bold colors which easily suits most of Indian skin tones.
Pigmentation and longevity – The pigmentation of this lipee is quite amazing. Its extremely soft and moistened and it leaves that velvety matte finish. And it does not settle on your lips completely like the other matte lipsticks, so you may have to reapply it every 2 or 3 hours. This will not dry out the lips and turns matte in half-hour. Its neither glossy nor sticky which makes it perfect for both morning and evening wear
I chose the fiery red with orange undertone, shade Mat 8. It’s a very pretty flirty color which suits very fair to medium skin tones. It shows its color in a single application, you can apply one more stroke if you desire. You can apply a similar colored lip-liner for more defined lips.
- Its extremely velvety like how the name says
- Good pigmentation
- Wide Spectrum of colors
- No need to apply lip-balm as the lipee itself is highly moistening
- Need to scrub your lips before application if you have dry lips
- Longevity is comparatively less
My verdict on this lipee: Go for it! Definitely recommended and one should have it in their vanity.
