Frequently asked questions
Can I use Aloe Vera and Retinal together?
Yes, and they work even better together. Aloe Vera cushions Retinal: it hydrates and supports the barrier while the active does its work. That means less irritation and better results.
Which goes first, Aloe Vera or Retinal?
Apply Aloe Vera first, then Retinal. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Aloe Vera in the morning or at night?
Aloe Vera: works morning or night. Use as a gel moisturiser for oily skin in summer, or under a cream in dry weather. Choose products without added alcohol or heavy fragrance.
Should I use Retinal in the morning or at night?
Retinal: best at night. Start at 0.05% two or three nights a week and build up slowly. Buffer with moisturiser if you are sensitive, and wear SPF daily.
Is Aloe Vera with Retinal safe during pregnancy?
Retinal is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
