How the checker works
Every pairing is scored on four levels, based on formulation chemistry and published dermatology guidance:
- Great combo The two ingredients boost each other or reduce each other's side effects.
- Safe to mix There is no conflict. Layer them in the same routine.
- Use with caution Not dangerous, but likely to irritate or lose effectiveness together. Split them into AM/PM or alternate nights.
- Don't mix One inactivates the other, or the pair is very likely to damage your barrier.
The ingredient-list analyser also flags pore-clogging (comedogenic) ingredients, fragrance allergens, drying alcohols and common "fungal acne" triggers. Treat these as a heads-up, not a verdict: the full formula and the concentration matter more than any single ingredient.
