Can you use Benzoyl Peroxide with Sulfur?

Yes, but not at the same time.

Both dry out acne. Together they can leave skin tight and peeling. Use one as a wash and the other as a spot treatment, or alternate days.

How to use them

Alternate nights, for example Benzoyl Peroxide on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Sulfur on Tuesday and Thursday, with a plain moisturiser night in between if your skin feels sensitive. If your skin is resilient and already used to both, you can try layering them: apply Benzoyl Peroxide first, wait a few minutes, then apply Sulfur.

What Benzoyl Peroxide does

It kills acne-causing bacteria (C. acnes) by releasing oxygen into the pore. It works fast on inflamed pimples, but it is drying and can bleach towels and pillowcases.

What Sulfur does

An old-school acne fighter that dries out oily spots, gently exfoliates and has antibacterial and antifungal activity. It is gentler than benzoyl peroxide for many people, though it has a distinctive smell.
