Can you use Glycolic Acid with Urea?

Great combo

Yes, and they work even better together.

Urea cushions Glycolic Acid: it hydrates and supports the barrier while the active does its work. That means less irritation and better results.

How to use them

Use them in the same routine at night. Apply Glycolic Acid first, then Urea, moving from thinnest to thickest texture.

What Glycolic Acid does

The smallest alpha-hydroxy acid, so it penetrates deepest. It dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells for smoother, brighter skin and fades marks, but it is the AHA most likely to sting.

A natural moisturising factor that pulls water into skin. At 10% and above it also softens rough, flaky patches. It is excellent for very dry skin, keratosis pilaris and cracked heels.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Glycolic Acid and Urea together?

Yes, and they work even better together. Urea cushions Glycolic Acid: it hydrates and supports the barrier while the active does its work. That means less irritation and better results.

Which goes first, Glycolic Acid or Urea?

Apply Glycolic Acid first, then Urea. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.

Should I use Glycolic Acid in the morning or at night?

Glycolic Acid: best at night. Use 2–3 nights a week after cleansing. Skip it on nights you use retinoids. Sunscreen is non-negotiable because AHAs raise sun sensitivity.

Should I use Urea in the morning or at night?

Urea: works morning or night. Use 5–10% on the face or body daily. Higher strengths can sting on broken or freshly exfoliated skin.
