For pigmentation and dullness, Lactic Acid is the stronger option, while Glutathione is gentler and better suited to sensitive or beginner skin.
Using both? Safe to mix There is no known chemical conflict between Glutathione and Lactic Acid, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (pigmentation and dullness), so together they reinforce each other. How to layer them →
Glutathione in short
A popular "glow" antioxidant in India. Topically it has some evidence for mild brightening, but it is a large, unstable molecule. Expect modest results compared with vitamin C, arbutin or niacinamide.
Lactic Acid in short
A gentler AHA with a larger molecule. It exfoliates while also acting as a humectant, so it suits dry and sensitive skin that cannot tolerate glycolic acid.
