Using both? Safe to mix There is no known chemical conflict between Glutathione and Tretinoin, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (pigmentation), so together they reinforce each other. How to layer them →
Glutathione in short
A popular "glow" antioxidant in India. Topically it has some evidence for mild brightening, but it is a large, unstable molecule. Expect modest results compared with vitamin C, arbutin or niacinamide.
Tretinoin in short
The prescription-strength retinoid, and the gold standard for acne and photo-ageing, with decades of evidence. It works directly (no conversion needed), so it is stronger and more irritating than retinol or retinal.
