Summer skincare routine for normal skin in Goa

Warm, humid coastal climate with a heavy monsoon and lots of sun, sand and sea.

Summer in Goa: what changes

  • Reapply sunscreen every 2–3 hours outdoors. Goa's UV is very high (beach reflection adds more).
  • Swap creams for gel textures, and carry blotting papers rather than re-powdering.
  • Cut back on strong actives in peak heat (May–June). Heat plus retinoids or acids often means irritation.

Tips for your skin

  • In humid weather, layer thin: gel textures, a matte sunscreen and blotting paper instead of re-powdering.
  • Pigmentation fades only if you stop new damage: reapply sunscreen every 2–3 hours outdoors. Results take 8–12 weeks.
  • Retinoid nights: apply on fully dry skin. If you sting, use the "sandwich" method (moisturiser, then retinoid, then moisturiser).
  • We kept Retinol and Mandelic Acid on separate nights on purpose: use with caution when layered.
  • Patch test every new product on your jawline for 2–3 nights before using it on your whole face.
  • Budget tip: Indian D2C brands sell single-active serums for ₹300–₹700 that match premium formulas. Pay for sunscreen first.
