Frequently asked questions
Can I use Ceramides and Retinal together?
Yes, and they work even better together. Ceramides cushions Retinal: it hydrates and supports the barrier while the active does its work. That means less irritation and better results.
Which goes first, Ceramides or Retinal?
Apply Retinal first, then Ceramides. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Ceramides in the morning or at night?
Ceramides: works morning or night. Use as your moisturiser step, morning and night. On nights with actives, you can buffer by applying a ceramide cream first.
Should I use Retinal in the morning or at night?
Retinal: best at night. Start at 0.05% two or three nights a week and build up slowly. Buffer with moisturiser if you are sensitive, and wear SPF daily.
Is Ceramides with Retinal safe during pregnancy?
Retinal is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
