Frequently asked questions
Can I use Niacinamide and Vitamin C together?
Yes, it is safe. The old warning came from 1960s studies that used pure, unstabilised ingredients at high heat. Modern research shows the two work well together: both brighten, and niacinamide can reduce the redness some people get from vitamin C. If you flush, apply them a few minutes apart.
Which goes first, Niacinamide or Vitamin C?
Apply Vitamin C first, then Niacinamide. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Niacinamide in the morning or at night?
Niacinamide: works morning or night. Use morning, night or both, after water-based serums. 4–5% is enough for most people. Very high percentages can cause flushing on sensitive skin.
Should I use Vitamin C in the morning or at night?
Vitamin C: best in the morning. Apply in the morning on clean skin before moisturiser and sunscreen. Store it away from light and heat, and throw it out once it turns dark orange.
