Using both? Safe to mix There is no known chemical conflict between Glycolic Acid and Kojic Acid, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (pigmentation), so together they reinforce each other. How to layer them →
Glycolic Acid in short
The smallest alpha-hydroxy acid, so it penetrates deepest. It dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells for smoother, brighter skin and fades marks, but it is the AHA most likely to sting.
Kojic Acid in short
Derived from fungi used in rice wine and soy sauce production, kojic acid blocks the enzyme that makes melanin. It is effective on dark spots but can cause contact sensitivity in some people.
