Winter skincare routine for oily skin in Goa

Warm, humid coastal climate with a heavy monsoon and lots of sun, sand and sea.

Winter in Goa: what changes

  • Winters here are mild. Keep your usual routine, but add a hydrating serum if skin feels tight in the evenings.
  • Exfoliate less often (once or twice a week). Cold, dry air plus acids equals flaking.
  • Keep using sunscreen daily. Winter sun still causes tanning and pigmentation.
  • Oily skin still needs moisturiser in winter. Skipping it can make skin produce more oil.

Tips for your skin

  • Mild weather is forgiving, but UV is not. Wear sunscreen every day even when it is cloudy.
  • Expect some purging for 4–6 weeks after starting an active. Change your pillowcase twice a week and do not pick.
  • Retinoid nights: apply on fully dry skin. If you sting, use the "sandwich" method (moisturiser, then retinoid, then moisturiser).
  • We kept Adapalene and Salicylic Acid on separate nights on purpose: use with caution when layered.
  • Patch test every new product on your jawline for 2–3 nights before using it on your whole face.
  • Budget tip: Indian D2C brands sell single-active serums for ₹300–₹700 that match premium formulas. Pay for sunscreen first.
