Can you use Copper Peptides with Mandelic Acid?

Use with caution

Yes, but not at the same time.

Low-pH acids can break down peptides, and with copper they can also irritate. Use the acid at one time of day and the peptide at the other, or on alternate nights.

How to use them

Alternate nights, for example Copper Peptides on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Mandelic Acid on Tuesday and Thursday, with a plain moisturiser night in between if your skin feels sensitive. If your skin is resilient and already used to both, you can try layering them: apply Mandelic Acid first, wait a few minutes, then apply Copper Peptides.

What Copper Peptides does

A peptide bound to copper that supports wound-healing, firmness and barrier repair. Copper is reactive, so it does not play well with strong acids or pure vitamin C.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Copper Peptides and Mandelic Acid together?

Yes, but not at the same time. Low-pH acids can break down peptides, and with copper they can also irritate. Use the acid at one time of day and the peptide at the other, or on alternate nights.

Which goes first, Copper Peptides or Mandelic Acid?

Apply Mandelic Acid first, then Copper Peptides. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first. For this pair, though, it is better not to layer them in the same routine at all.

Should I use Copper Peptides in the morning or at night?

Copper Peptides: best at night. Use at night on nights without acids or vitamin C. A thin layer is enough.

Should I use Mandelic Acid in the morning or at night?

Mandelic Acid: best at night. Use 3–4 nights a week. It is mild enough that many people can use it more often than other acids.

Is Copper Peptides with Mandelic Acid safe during pregnancy?

Neither is a known risk in normal cosmetic amounts, but guidance varies for Copper Peptides. Check with your doctor.
