The verdict

For acne, Adapalene is the stronger option, while Zinc PCA is gentler and better suited to sensitive or beginner skin.

Using both? Safe to mix There is no known chemical conflict between Adapalene and Zinc PCA, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (acne), so together they reinforce each other. How to layer them →

Adapalene in short

A synthetic retinoid built for acne. It unclogs pores and calms the inflammation behind breakouts. It is more stable than retinol, and in India it is sold as a gel (often by prescription).

Zinc PCA in short

Zinc salts help regulate sebum and have mild anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. That is why zinc so often appears next to niacinamide in oil-control serums.
