The verdict
Both are similarly gentle. Choose based on your main goal: Bakuchiol for aging, texture and pigmentation, PDRN for aging, barrier and hydration.
Using both? Safe to mix There is no known chemical conflict between Bakuchiol and PDRN, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (aging), so together they reinforce each other. How to layer them →
Bakuchiol in short
A plant extract (from babchi seeds) that works like retinol in small studies, with far less dryness and no sun sensitivity. It is milder and slower than a true retinoid.
PDRN in short
Polydeoxyribonucleotide, a salmon-DNA-derived ingredient best known from in-clinic "salmon DNA" injections and now sold in serums. Early clinical studies suggest it may support tissue repair and hydration, but topical (as opposed to injected) evidence is still limited, so treat claims of dramatic results with caution.
