Can you use Glycolic Acid with PDRN?

Use with caution

Yes, but not at the same time.

Low-pH acids can break down peptides, and with copper they can also irritate. Use the acid at one time of day and the peptide at the other, or on alternate nights.

How to use them

Alternate nights, for example Glycolic Acid on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and PDRN on Tuesday and Thursday, with a plain moisturiser night in between if your skin feels sensitive. If your skin is resilient and already used to both, you can try layering them: apply Glycolic Acid first, wait a few minutes, then apply PDRN.

What Glycolic Acid does

The smallest alpha-hydroxy acid, so it penetrates deepest. It dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells for smoother, brighter skin and fades marks, but it is the AHA most likely to sting.

What PDRN does

Polydeoxyribonucleotide, a salmon-DNA-derived ingredient best known from in-clinic "salmon DNA" injections and now sold in serums. Early clinical studies suggest it may support tissue repair and hydration, but topical (as opposed to injected) evidence is still limited, so treat claims of dramatic results with caution.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Glycolic Acid and PDRN together?

Yes, but not at the same time. Low-pH acids can break down peptides, and with copper they can also irritate. Use the acid at one time of day and the peptide at the other, or on alternate nights.

Which goes first, Glycolic Acid or PDRN?

Apply Glycolic Acid first, then PDRN. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first. For this pair, though, it is better not to layer them in the same routine at all.

Should I use Glycolic Acid in the morning or at night?

Glycolic Acid: best at night. Use 2–3 nights a week after cleansing. Skip it on nights you use retinoids. Sunscreen is non-negotiable because AHAs raise sun sensitivity.

Should I use PDRN in the morning or at night?

PDRN: works morning or night. Use as a serum step, morning or night. It has no known irritancy, so it layers easily with most other actives. It is not a substitute for an in-clinic PDRN treatment, which uses injectable-grade material under medical supervision.

Is Glycolic Acid with PDRN safe during pregnancy?

Neither is a known risk in normal cosmetic amounts, but guidance varies for PDRN. Check with your doctor.
