Frequently asked questions
Can I use Kojic Acid and Niacinamide together?
Yes, it is safe. There is no known chemical conflict between Kojic Acid and Niacinamide, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (pigmentation), so together they reinforce each other.
Which goes first, Kojic Acid or Niacinamide?
Apply Kojic Acid first, then Niacinamide. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Kojic Acid in the morning or at night?
Kojic Acid: works morning or night. Patch test first. Use once daily at first, then build up.
Should I use Niacinamide in the morning or at night?
Niacinamide: works morning or night. Use morning, night or both, after water-based serums. 4–5% is enough for most people. Very high percentages can cause flushing on sensitive skin.
Is Kojic Acid with Niacinamide safe during pregnancy?
Neither is a known risk in normal cosmetic amounts, but guidance varies for Kojic Acid. Check with your doctor.
