Frequently asked questions
Can I use Kojic Acid and Lactic Acid together?
Yes, it is safe. There is no known chemical conflict between Kojic Acid and Lactic Acid, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (pigmentation), so together they reinforce each other.
Which goes first, Kojic Acid or Lactic Acid?
Apply Lactic Acid first, then Kojic Acid. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Kojic Acid in the morning or at night?
Kojic Acid: works morning or night. Patch test first. Use once daily at first, then build up.
Should I use Lactic Acid in the morning or at night?
Lactic Acid: best at night. Use 2–3 nights a week. It is good for beginners to exfoliation. Follow with a moisturiser, and wear SPF the next day.
Is Kojic Acid with Lactic Acid safe during pregnancy?
Neither is a known risk in normal cosmetic amounts, but guidance varies for Kojic Acid. Check with your doctor.
