Frequently asked questions
Can I use Adapalene and Hydroquinone together?
Yes, it is safe. There is no known chemical conflict between Adapalene and Hydroquinone, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (pigmentation), so together they reinforce each other.
Which goes first, Adapalene or Hydroquinone?
Apply Hydroquinone first, then Adapalene. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Adapalene in the morning or at night?
Adapalene: best at night. Apply a thin layer to the whole acne-prone area at night, not just on spots. Expect a purge for 4–6 weeks. Use a moisturiser and daily SPF.
Should I use Hydroquinone in the morning or at night?
Hydroquinone: best at night. Use only under a dermatologist's guidance, typically nightly on the dark patches for up to 3 months, then take a break. Strict daily sunscreen is required or results reverse.
Is Adapalene with Hydroquinone safe during pregnancy?
Adapalene and Hydroquinone is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
