How to use them
Alternate nights, for example Adapalene on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Mandelic Acid on Tuesday and Thursday, with a plain moisturiser night in between if your skin feels sensitive. If your skin is resilient and already used to both, you can try layering them: apply Mandelic Acid first, wait a few minutes, then apply Adapalene.

What Adapalene does
A synthetic retinoid built for acne. It unclogs pores and calms the inflammation behind breakouts. It is more stable than retinol, and in India it is sold as a gel (often by prescription).

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Adapalene and Mandelic Acid together?
Yes, but not at the same time. Both Adapalene and Mandelic Acid speed up cell turnover. Used in the same routine they commonly cause redness, peeling and a damaged barrier, especially in India's heat and humidity. Alternate nights instead.
Which goes first, Adapalene or Mandelic Acid?
Apply Mandelic Acid first, then Adapalene. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first. For this pair, though, it is better not to layer them in the same routine at all.
Should I use Adapalene in the morning or at night?
Adapalene: best at night. Apply a thin layer to the whole acne-prone area at night, not just on spots. Expect a purge for 4–6 weeks. Use a moisturiser and daily SPF.
Should I use Mandelic Acid in the morning or at night?
Mandelic Acid: best at night. Use 3–4 nights a week. It is mild enough that many people can use it more often than other acids.
Is Adapalene with Mandelic Acid safe during pregnancy?
Adapalene is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
