How to use them
Alternate nights, for example Adapalene on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Sulfur on Tuesday and Thursday, with a plain moisturiser night in between if your skin feels sensitive. If your skin is resilient and already used to both, you can try layering them: apply Sulfur first, wait a few minutes, then apply Adapalene.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Adapalene and Sulfur together?
Yes, but not at the same time. Sulfur and retinoids are both drying. Layered together they often cause flaking and irritation. Use sulfur as a morning spot treatment or wash, and the retinoid at night.
Which goes first, Adapalene or Sulfur?
Apply Sulfur first, then Adapalene. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first. For this pair, though, it is better not to layer them in the same routine at all.
Should I use Adapalene in the morning or at night?
Adapalene: best at night. Apply a thin layer to the whole acne-prone area at night, not just on spots. Expect a purge for 4–6 weeks. Use a moisturiser and daily SPF.
Should I use Sulfur in the morning or at night?
Sulfur: works morning or night. Use as a spot treatment, a clay mask or a short-contact wash. It can be drying, so moisturise afterwards.
Is Adapalene with Sulfur safe during pregnancy?
Adapalene is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
