Can you use Exosomes with Glycolic Acid?

Use with caution

Yes, but not at the same time.

Low-pH acids can break down peptides, and with copper they can also irritate. Use the acid at one time of day and the peptide at the other, or on alternate nights.

How to use them

Alternate nights, for example Exosomes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and Glycolic Acid on Tuesday and Thursday, with a plain moisturiser night in between if your skin feels sensitive. If your skin is resilient and already used to both, you can try layering them: apply Glycolic Acid first, wait a few minutes, then apply Exosomes.

What Exosomes does

Tiny cell-signalling particles, most often derived from plant or stem-cell cultures for cosmetic use. In-clinic exosome treatments (injected or applied after microneedling) have more published evidence than the topical serums sold direct to consumers. Regulatory status varies by country, and topical evidence is still described as early and limited, so treat "regeneration" or anti-ageing claims with caution.

What Glycolic Acid does

The smallest alpha-hydroxy acid, so it penetrates deepest. It dissolves the bonds between dead skin cells for smoother, brighter skin and fades marks, but it is the AHA most likely to sting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Exosomes and Glycolic Acid together?

Yes, but not at the same time. Low-pH acids can break down peptides, and with copper they can also irritate. Use the acid at one time of day and the peptide at the other, or on alternate nights.

Which goes first, Exosomes or Glycolic Acid?

Apply Glycolic Acid first, then Exosomes. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first. For this pair, though, it is better not to layer them in the same routine at all.

Should I use Exosomes in the morning or at night?

Exosomes: works morning or night. If using a topical exosome serum, apply after cleansing and before heavier creams. For in-clinic exosome treatments, use only a qualified, licensed practitioner and ask what the exosomes are derived from.

Should I use Glycolic Acid in the morning or at night?

Glycolic Acid: best at night. Use 2–3 nights a week after cleansing. Skip it on nights you use retinoids. Sunscreen is non-negotiable because AHAs raise sun sensitivity.

Is Exosomes with Glycolic Acid safe during pregnancy?

Neither is a known risk in normal cosmetic amounts, but guidance varies for Exosomes. Check with your doctor.
