What Exosomes does
Tiny cell-signalling particles, most often derived from plant or stem-cell cultures for cosmetic use. In-clinic exosome treatments (injected or applied after microneedling) have more published evidence than the topical serums sold direct to consumers. Regulatory status varies by country, and topical evidence is still described as early and limited, so treat "regeneration" or anti-ageing claims with caution.

What Retinal does
Retinaldehyde is one conversion step closer to retinoic acid than retinol, so it works faster than retinol while usually being gentler than tretinoin. It also has a mild antibacterial effect useful for acne.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use Exosomes and Retinal together?
Yes, it is safe. There is no known chemical conflict between Exosomes and Retinal, and neither makes the other less effective. They share a goal (aging and texture), so together they reinforce each other.
Which goes first, Exosomes or Retinal?
Apply Exosomes first, then Retinal. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Exosomes in the morning or at night?
Exosomes: works morning or night. If using a topical exosome serum, apply after cleansing and before heavier creams. For in-clinic exosome treatments, use only a qualified, licensed practitioner and ask what the exosomes are derived from.
Should I use Retinal in the morning or at night?
Retinal: best at night. Start at 0.05% two or three nights a week and build up slowly. Buffer with moisturiser if you are sensitive, and wear SPF daily.
Is Exosomes with Retinal safe during pregnancy?
Retinal is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
