Frequently asked questions
Can I use Retinal and Urea together?
Yes, and they work even better together. Urea cushions Retinal: it hydrates and supports the barrier while the active does its work. That means less irritation and better results.
Which goes first, Retinal or Urea?
Apply Retinal first, then Urea. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.
Should I use Retinal in the morning or at night?
Retinal: best at night. Start at 0.05% two or three nights a week and build up slowly. Buffer with moisturiser if you are sensitive, and wear SPF daily.
Should I use Urea in the morning or at night?
Urea: works morning or night. Use 5–10% on the face or body daily. Higher strengths can sting on broken or freshly exfoliated skin.
Is Retinal with Urea safe during pregnancy?
Retinal is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ask your doctor about safer alternatives such as azelaic acid or bakuchiol.
