Can you use PDRN with Vitamin C?

Safe to mix

Yes, it is safe.

There is no known chemical conflict. Vitamin C's antioxidant, brightening effect and PDRN's hydration/repair claims target different things, so some brands sell them as a combined "glass skin" step. Evidence for the topical PDRN side of this pairing is still early, so treat dramatic before/afters with caution.

How to use them

Use them in the same routine in the morning. Apply Vitamin C first, then PDRN, moving from thinnest to thickest texture. Finish with sunscreen in the morning.

What PDRN does

Polydeoxyribonucleotide, a salmon-DNA-derived ingredient best known from in-clinic "salmon DNA" injections and now sold in serums. Early clinical studies suggest it may support tissue repair and hydration, but topical (as opposed to injected) evidence is still limited, so treat claims of dramatic results with caution.

What Vitamin C does

A powerful antioxidant that brightens dull skin, fades dark spots and boosts your sunscreen's protection against free radicals. Pure L-ascorbic acid works best at a low pH and oxidises (turns orange) quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use PDRN and Vitamin C together?

Yes, it is safe. There is no known chemical conflict. Vitamin C's antioxidant, brightening effect and PDRN's hydration/repair claims target different things, so some brands sell them as a combined "glass skin" step. Evidence for the topical PDRN side of this pairing is still early, so treat dramatic before/afters with caution.

Which goes first, PDRN or Vitamin C?

Apply Vitamin C first, then PDRN. The general rule is thinnest to thickest texture, and lowest pH first.

Should I use PDRN in the morning or at night?

PDRN: works morning or night. Use as a serum step, morning or night. It has no known irritancy, so it layers easily with most other actives. It is not a substitute for an in-clinic PDRN treatment, which uses injectable-grade material under medical supervision.

Should I use Vitamin C in the morning or at night?

Vitamin C: best in the morning. Apply in the morning on clean skin before moisturiser and sunscreen. Store it away from light and heat, and throw it out once it turns dark orange.

Is PDRN with Vitamin C safe during pregnancy?

Neither is a known risk in normal cosmetic amounts, but guidance varies for PDRN. Check with your doctor.
